Two years ago Central United Methodist Church began Community of Hope, a place for people street and housed, churched and unchurched, to come together and grow community. Tonight, that community went beyond itself and served at Project Share. Project Share is known as one of the best places to eat in Albuquerque and feeds people who are experiencing homelessness or living in poverty. Project Share ensures that no one in Albuquerque suffers from starvation.
On the second Saturday of each month, Central UMC serves at Project Share. Tonight the group who served included eight people from Community of Hope and three people from the traditional congregation. This group of 11 people not only fed more than 150 people, but shared stories and grew in community with one another.
