Today at Community of Hope there was an invitation to share in the Lord’s Prayer in whatever language people find most worshipful. The scripture lesson was read in Spanish and English. And then, a more challenging message was shared.

Based on the scripture from Genesis 1:27, which states that all are created in God’s image, a conversation followed about what God looks like and what language God speaks. People enthusiastically agreed that every person reflects something about who God is.

Then a contrast was heard between how the world views people and how God views people. While Genesis 1 says that God declared all of creation very good, one person shared that people are often looked at as trash, good for nothing. The service ended with a challenge to view ourselves as God views us (beautifully and wonderfully made) and not as the world views us.
