In Mark, Chapter 6, Jesus went to teach in his hometown of Nazareth. There he was rejected by the people who knew him best. Today at Community of Hope, we shared our experiences of rejection. Rejection based on perception, looks, assumptions, race, religion, braces, and beliefs. Although Community of Hope is a gathering of people who are housed and street, churched and unchurched, all of us shared the common experience of rejection.
However, we also shared the experience of acceptance. While all of us have been rejected by others, we have all been accepted by God. No matter what our status, skin color, or origin, we all are loved by God.
We came to Community of Hope as the rejected people of the world, we departed as the accepted people of God.
